Boston Docks and Russian Timber Ships

It was in 1964 that Chris Blakey had the chance to board a Russian ship harboured in Boston Docks. This the beginning of this fantastic life journey. Two years later in 1966, Boston Grammar School organised a school trip to Moscow and Leningrad. It was led by “Gert” Tromans and it inspired all who took part.

Today we visited Boston Grammar School and met up with BGS contemporaries David Wortley, Peter Sharman and Pete Milsom and enjoyed great BGS hospitality from Head Mistress Rowan Druce.

From here we set off for Hull and the boat to Helsinki.
